Anyone else quitting eBay?

I'm pretty much done with eBay. I found Styleforum a few months ago and have found the members to be far more knowledgeable and friendly. Plus I don't have to spend a large portion of my day answering requests for shipping costs and availability from international users. Anyone else in the same boat?

I try to stay away from ebay and paypal as much as possible. I'm pretty much through with selling on there. I wouldn't mind if that company becomes one of these that fall due to these economic times and they had to liquidate everything and lay off all their employees.
I would feel sorry for laid off workers usually but in this case I am not sorry for ebay workers as they are all incompetent, mindless, and only cater to the malicious-minded as it takes more work to investigate to clear up false claims.

I don't know if we need more people unemployed, but it seems like the ebay model only has a little bit more time. With Craigslist around, and maybe more forums like SF on the way it just doesn't make sense to give a percentage of your sale to ebay.

They're trying to rebrand their business based on the Amazon "Buy It Now" model, which is a huge mistake. The auction format is what makes eBay great. I love the new $0.35 listing fees, but charging 12% for clothing sales is ridiculous.

Yeah I didn't mean that. Just every time I think of ebay and paypal I get reminded of how they jacked me over a few hundred dollars for nothing I did wrong. Absolutely nothing.
It's me talking out of my butt but I still feel resentment towards that entity.

We threw in the towel after paypal started holding all payments until buyers leave positve feedback.

dont get me wrong though it is a good way for someone to sell stuff if they like and make a few hundred bucks, On a commercial level it got a little rediculous. I have an assigned Account manager with paypal they dont know why ebay is changing everything but they say it has caused a real whirlwind on there side, eBay has enforced new policies over the last 2 months and paypal has to follow them they have no say in it.

So where is the eBay killer? When you create a business model that is predicated on a monopoly then you make the mistake that people wont go elsewhere. So far that's been working for them but eventually there will be a mass exodus. Where is that exodus?

I think as we see more ecommerce solutions becoming more readily available ebays base will slowly strat to dwindle. I dont think this is going to happen any time soon. They still beat there closest competitor by 10,000,000 listings. Although i see there listing amount drop daily, and i havent seen it go up in a while now.

This is really happening. and yes if the buyer just decides to sit on his thumb paypal resevres the right to hold such funds for up to 45 days indefintely if you dont confirm shipment through there system.

They dont hold all of your payments, at one time we were moving 15k + through paypal, and they held up to $2500 in payments as you can imagine this can stiffle a small companies cash flow pretty significantly. especially when you have to pay for the inventory and shipping, before you get paid.
