Do I need to re-install printer/external hard drive software on new computer?

I just got a new computer finally after 6 years. Is it necessary to re-install the software for my printer and external hard drive on to my new computer? Or can I just plug them into the USB port? Thanks.

You sometimes have to, depending on the printer and how old it is. With more recent ones, the drivers will usually be included with Windows/Mac OS X already and you do not need to install them.

Installing the printer software, select Manual Installation. Do not choose to automatically install. Well, if you are prompted to enter the place where the software will be installed, select the external hard drive external hard drive or folder, and continue the installation. Hope this helps.

If its windows 7 and your printer is old, probably no need for drivers. External HDD no, just plug and play.
