I guess it depends on what you need. A professional hair dryer (with cooling/heating switch, different fan speeds, adjustable temp) can run you around $100 or a little more. It will last a long time, be quiter, and work better than a cheapo.

The inexpensive ones at Walmart are around $30-$40.

If you are going to use it for styling / round brushing and / or need more control, spend the money and get a better dryer. There's a big difference.

If you're like my Dad and have short, stick straight hair and just want to dry it quickly, get a cheapo.
