I finally saw UFC 167 GSP vs Hendricks and i want to hear what other thought about it. While GSP retained the title, Hendrick definitely hurt him. I have not really seen anyone handle GSP quiet like that. Maybe i have missed a few fights but normally GSP dominates the challengers. Not this time.

IDK if Hendricks deserved the belt just yet, he hurt GSP but there was never time when he had him down for long enough for me to be able to say he won. This fight reminds me of Shogun vs Machida 1 where Shogun clearly won and the title was retained. Here it was not as clear.

Having said all that, i am excited to see GSP vs Hendricks 2

GSP looked small. Maybe he had to cycle off.

Fight was close but as they say you have to beat the champ to be the champ. I'd like to see guys work on finishing top level competition rather then bitching about judging.

GSP sounds like he might need to take a break or retire, he was talking about waking up at night unable to sleep and having memory/brain issues.

Agreed, you have to submit, ko, tko to prove you've won, lasting the fight is not winning. Hendricks, i thought gave all he had in round 1/2 and then GSP just kinda danced with him all the way. It also took him a second to figure out how to fight a southpaw. GSP did take one hell of a beating, normally he gives them out.

RE time off, umm yea dude is 32 and if he has memory loss or cannot sleep its time to relax. Too many hits to the head catches up with you. I always pay attention to the punches to the heads those guys take and the impact is insane. Hope he is ok, GSP has been very classy so far.

The GSP-Hendricks decision was no robbery. MMA fights are scored round by round, not "who would you rather be at the end of the fight?" Using that standard, Hendricks won rounds 2 and 4, GSP won rounds 3 and 5, and round 1 was really close. MMA judges have a natural bias to score close rounds for the champion (or higher ranked fighter), so it's no surprise that two out of the three judges scored round 1 for GSP. I've read that Hendricks' corner told him he was up 3-1 going into the fifth round, so if anything, the blame likes with them.

that is true, during the break the corner told him to take it easy and that he is going to be champ in 5 minutes

Yeah, all the judges scored 4 of 5 rounds the same and round 1 was split 2-1. Unless you've just beat a dude to tar for 4 rounds you should never just coast and even then you run the risk of getting knocked the fuck out. Honestly I thought the Jones - Nordic Dude decision was worse.
