Really like Rashad. Don't know why people boo him. He can be cocky but his record speaks for itself even if he doesn't win in spectacular fashion in some bouts.

In the past he's coasted through some fights looking for the decision, rather than really trying to finish. Also, he's a cocky black dude in sport whose fan base is 95% white.

I think the hatin' is bullshit, the reaction of people who probably have zero experience wrestling or grappling, and would rather see two guys mindlessly banging. I mean, if a guy can get dominant position and completely shut an opponent's offense down, that's a real as it gets. People that have spent some years on the mats can appreciate it.

It's not like the answer to Rashad is some great mystery--get someone in there who can outwrestle him!

And Rashad has more than earned the right to his arrogance at this point. He's the kind of guy who has winning flowing through his veins. At least until he goes up against Jon Bones...

I disagree. There are plenty of cocky black fighters that people love - Rampage comes immediately to mind. People loved Anderson Silva until he started phoning in fights. People hate him for the same reason they hate Michael Bisping. He comes off as a dick who talks a much better game than he can deliver.

The answer to Rashad is not hard to answer at all. Machida had him at "Let's fight." And before you say "He should have gone back to his wrestling", remember that Randy couldn't take and keep Machida down. Rashad is a strong wrestler with a hard punch, but he has a soft chin ( a minute more against Rampage, and it would have been lights out, and his speed is not that useful in the standup, because, frankly, it's still pretty rudimentary. I've spent a lot of time on the mats, though I did not start as a wrestler, and most of the groundwork I know is BJJ based.

Anyone catch the card last night? Pretty good night of fights. Bendo was a revelation; he laid a beatdown on Miller.

Probably the best free event ever. The prelims were amazing and the main card didn't dissapoint either.

I saw that ad earlier today. Looks like Uncle Dana isn't paying enough.

What are everyone's picks? i rewatched the Silva-Okami fight from Rumble on the Rock and don't think Okami has anything to offer Silva. Silva is looking to put on a show and leave no doubt who the better fighter is. Silva by third-round TKO.

Forrest-Shogun is the most intriguing fight on the card. Shogun looks to be fully healthy and is the more skilled fighter, but Forrest is a huge LHW who is a tough matchup. Plus, Forrest has the psychological advantage of having already beaten Shogun. I'm picking Forrest to win a UD in a mild upset.

As much as I would like to see Big Nog submit Schaub, it's not going to happen. Schaub makes Big Nog his latest victim in his Smashing Legends Way Past Their Prime Tour in a second-round KO, and requests to fight Fedor next.

I think Silva is going to beat the stuffing out of Okami. He will be pumped and fighting at home and will want to make a statement. Okami can't strike as well and I have not seen a good enough TD from him. His clinch game is good and he is strong but AS has a pretty good clinch game too.
I predict first round will have AS finding range and riding his bike for about 3 min. then he will find his range, finish strong, and come out and KO Okami in brutal fashion.

Shogun is going to beat Forrest. Either a first round KO or a decision.

Nog, might, just might, pull out a miracle. He will have every piece person within a thousand miles rooting for him and he has all the heart on earth. BS is young and the moment might be too much for him. He is also not a great fighter, good, but not great.
I can see Nog pulling one more magic moment out but I'd still bet that he ends up face down.
