Really bizarre fight. I would have given both guys an "L" if it was possible.

some canadian dude on sherdog posted a thread about how he was in a bar in halifax watching the fight and Jon Jones was there. Dude said he was cool, and then during one of the goofy/ridiculous moments in the fight like the above GIF, Jones yelled "WHAT IS THIS SHIT?!"

Wow the GP this wknd was very underwhelming. Werdum didn't even try to bait, he just toppled over and hoped reem would follow. Kidding me...

No one is talking about how "Nate the Great" got fired the night before his UFC fight?? From what I hear he tested positive for "the clear".

Anyone catch the Kongo-Barry fight? Most insane comeback ever.

Great KO, but I think if the Ref came close enough to stop it by touching Barry then he should have stopped it. I think it gave Kongo at the split second he needed.

Miragliotta almost stopping the fight:

I agree that the fight could have been called, but I think that Mirgliatta gave the right call. The second knockdown (by Barry) was a hook that caught Kongo on the temple, not the chin. If you are wobbled, and you take one to the temple, you are going to fall down because your equilibrium is already so wonky, but chances are that it's not going to be a "flash" KO, where you are unable to defend.

WOW. All I gotta say.

UFC 132 thoughts:

1) Darth Bader's career has been seriously sidetracked. He was supposed to beat Tito, who at this point seems to be the matchup given to a guy Dana wants to make a comeback run after having been fed to the wolves - doesn't hit hard, striking is not smooth, can't shoot anymore. Getting submitted by Tito is sort of like getting KO'd by Tito (which looked like it could have happened as well.) And pulling guard into a guillotine? Tito is bringing back the old school.

2) Have always loved Carlos Condit. I am liking that the front kick is being showcased, either as a KO weapon, or as a setup for a KO, more and more.

3) Sotiropolous. Man. That guy turned from hot prospect to meh so fast... All I can say is that he'd better win his next fight.

4) Wanderlei - a perfect example of why gym wars are a bad idea in the long term. No such thing as training your chin.

5) Melvin Guillard - one of the few guys who uses body strikes to such good effect.

132 had a ton of good fights. Probably one of the best cards in awhile. Even though there wasn't any sever damage either way, the Faber/Cruz fight was entertaining as hell I thought. And I love Denis Siver even though that match was pretty even.

I had Wiman winning that fight 29-28, I can't believe someone gave all 3 rounds to Siver.
