Where do they find these guys? Wes had terrible technique and worse cardio. He spent most of the fight hunched over, hands on knees, asking to be knocked out. James had some nice leg kicks, but only won the fight because his cardio was slightly better. And was Rashad's #1 pick!

Kimbo is going to get worked next week. Only way Roy loses is if his ego gets in the way of common sense, he stands with Kimbo, and gets caught. No matter the result, I still think Kimbo gets at least one UFC fight, probably on the main card of a PPV.

McSweeny seemed like he was a bit overwhelmed by Wes' size and strength, to begin with anyway. Wes probably has very little training and had a serious adrenaline dump, he should've been able to finish that kimura or at least transition to the back and/or armbar when McSweeny escaped. On the first ep, one of the other nfl guys was talking about how much more intense of a workout mma is compared to football. Most seasons there's more than a few guys who've "fought" but aren't really that skilled compared to what we're used to seeing from mma fights. Think about how many smaller shows there are nation/worldwide and the caliber of talent, that's where a lot of the fighters are being pulled from. I think that Roy Nelson, Brendan Schaub, Wes Simms and a few others will be the standouts. However, i am not ruling out Roy getting ktfo'd by Kimbo next week. Kimbo doesn't seem but so adept at the ground game, so Big Country's got a good chance to take him down and either sub or gnp him for the win.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, I have no idea how many fights are left on his contract, but either way I imagine that Dana must be absolutely pissed right now, I am sure he will release many statements about this in the coming weeks. FWIW I think Rampage playing Mr.T's A-Team character B.A. Baracus is actually pretty cool, I really cannot think of any other actor that would be significantly better at that role than him.
Here's Dana's reaction:

I'm disappointed that we won't see Rashad fight Rampage for awhile, but I can't blame Rampage for doing what he's doing. He was born to play B.A. Baracus, and beat out 50 Cent, The Game, and Ice Cube for the role. I wouldn't be surprised he molded his public persona after Baracus:

While the other members of the team regularly resort to disguises, scams and subterfuge to achieve their goals, B.A.'s distinctive appearance and confrontational attitude usually lead to a more direct approach to problems, which often involve either his skills at hand to hand combat, or his mechanical talents.

He is a highly-skilled mechanic and has an amazing talent for making impressive machinery out of just about any ordinary parts. Hannibal once said to B.A., "With a pair of pliers and a little time, you could fix anything but dinner." He is also an excellent fighter and is invaluable in hand-to-hand combat. Because of his massive size and strength, he has a unique fighting tactic, which involves grabbing his opponents, lifting them over his head, and hurling them in the air. He is easily angered to the point of rage, and often greets people with a growl or a snarl. He is most often upset by Murdock and frequently addresses him with the phrase "You crazy fool!" Despite his reputed attitude, he is a nice guy at heart. He has a special fondness for children, occasionally working at a youth center teaching sports to the kids. It is divulged in a season 2 episode that he is from Chicago, another parallel with the real life Mr. T.

Damn! I missed the episode. So far, it seems like there have been some pathetic fights/fighters (I saw the first episode). Here's to hoping it gets better.

Consider yourself lucky to have missed it. Watching that fight actually made me angry. Half expected to see Dana come in and tell them both to GTFO.

Cardio is very different in different sports. For example, I remember that I laughed when I heard how tough a time guys on the first season had doing "fives", which is just 30 minutes of running, and only 10 of those minutes is at decent speeds for anyone who runs halfway seriously. That was when I was running races regularly, and could easily run 2 hours at a decent pace. However, I remember that after the 1st round of my first fight, I felt like my lungs were going to burst. Seriously, it was hard to get out of the corner, and both of us (both pretty green) had a hard time putting anything together.

That fight sucked though. I wanted to go in and beat them both with a bat. I know guys with serious records out of good camps who would be ashamed of that performance. I have no idea why McSweeney did so poorly. Greg Jackson supposedly runs a great camp, and I've seen his guys put on much better shows than that, and in much smaller venues than TUF.

Well, to be fair, it was his first pick because he knew him personally, and trained with him. The dude had solid leg kicks, but for a Muy Thai fighter, he was overwhelmed pretty easily on his feet when Wes Shivers swarmed on him.

his hip rotation and gaurd was so not there. I am sure anyone here or has friends that fight can tell you what those to did in the cage was just "BAD".
turning your back while standing? Giving your back and limbs while on the ground?? WTF!?!
McSweeny kicks looked great because Wes sucked so bad it made him look amazing that's it.
Furthermore as it has been said McWeenies ( as a thai boxer) conditioning sucked. I know a lot of fighters energy zaps because of adrenaline rushes then crashes. I thas happened to me but that was horrible.
It **** like that that makes an average Joe join a gym ( thinking hell I can do that) then he gets walhloped and never trains again.

5mi is not that much. That's 40 minutes if you are running 8 minute miles, which is essentially a fast jog. A professional athlete should be able to jog 40 minutes - even Roy Nelson. If you stretch out adequately and hydrate afterwards, you are going to be just fine. Shivers not being able to walk right had nothing to do with jogging - it had to do with his inability to check a kick.

Fok, buddy.... running five miles when you weigh 255 pounds is a lot harder than running five miles at 180. I'm not saying that's any excuse, but it's not like some sort of casual jog like you make it out to be.
