OK - There are a pair of Alden cordovan monk straps in size 12 AAA/A on Ebay, but I'm wondering how narrow they would be. I generally wear an 11 1/2 or 12 C or D - so would these be too narrow? Alden Monk Straps Clearly this seller doesn't really know what he is offering, because it seems like an awfully low starting price for these shoes and their doesn't appear to be a reserve. Can anyone with Alden experience give me an idea of how these might fit... and if I can't get them - I hope someone on here picks them up. Bradford

Definitely too narrow IMO. You can take them to cobbler to have them stretched, but I think the rule of thumb is stretching can only push them one size -- A to B, for instance. They may be so cheap b/c the market for narrow sizes is. . . narrow.

Bummer -

Because this is the exact shoe that I've gone completely ga-ga over on the Alden web site - but I can't afford to spend nearly $500 on a pair of shoes right now.

I may have to bid just to see if they would work - I  do have somewhat narrow feet - but usually just make do with c or d widths because that is what is available. If I could stretch these to at least a B width - that might work - and if I can get them for less than $50 - who knows.

Bradford, when you are ready for them, call me and I will take 15% off, that is better than nothing, and they will be the right size and new.

FYI - outbid on these at the last second. Oh well - probably saved myself from buying a pair of shoes that would be too narrow and end up being a waste of money in my closet
