This is so funny.
Quote:
Young pop singer Lily Allen received a very public dressing down from industry veteran Sir Elton John last night as the pair hosted the GQ Men of the Year Awards. In front of an audience comprising the crème of the entertainment world, the 23-year-old chart-topper sipped champagne on stage until she began slurring and swearing. When Allen told the audience at London's Royal Opera House "now we reach a very special point in the evening", Sir Elton replied: "What, you are going to have another drink?" Allen, dressed demurely in a full-length ball gown, responded: "Fuck off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me." The 61-year-old superstar, watched by audience members including Gordon Ramsay, Thandie Newton and Elle MacPherson, then told her: "I could still snort you under the table."

Yes, it is. It's a slang term.

Why would elton change the topic from booze to coke? He can outdo her in either and he's got the pacemaker to prove it.

Lily's drinking bouts are already legendary and she is a mere 23. He was referring to cocaine, idiot.

hes clearly talking about cocaine. it being harsher and more of a wild thing than alcohol, hes trying to show her she isnt on his level yet. and ive never heard snort being used for alcohol. you dont snort alcohol.

so i googled it, and apparently they actually snort alcohol in the UK. it would get you drunk faster - since it goes right to the brain.....

google snort alcohol

I'd probably drown if I snorted a beer. I can't swim. Are these things interrelated? I don't know.

I won't fight it anymore, "PRINT THE LEGEND"

but snort also refers to a drink done quickly, in one go, like a shot. It is how one gets a "snootfull".

Could it be a southern thing, too? I've heard "snort" definitely in reference to whiskey and/or bourbon, as in, "Care for a snort?" It can also mean a quick sip from a flask, IIRC.
