pollo loco used to be good when it was family owned and operated. the original one is on alvarado near downtown l.a. back then, the only thing they sold was chicken, rice, and beans, nothing else. then the company was bought out by the company that owns denny's (so i'm told) and that's when they started spreading out and selling burritos, tacos, mashed potatoes, macaroni, all that crap.
if you go there just order the chicken,
corn tortillas, and rice & beans if you like them. that's the real deal. they used to put little bits of jalapeños in their beans
