I see, thanks for clarifying the process.

I was editing my post to provide a bit more content but your response is pretty clear, and swift!

Granted this is all relative to the condition of the shoe, I was really curious as to the steps, which seem to be:

  1. Brush (to rid of any debris / dust / dirt)
  2. Clean (Renovateur for example)
  3. Condition (Renovateur may already take care of this step, too)
  4. Polish (more to bring back the color e.g. black, dark brown, tan etc.)
  5. Shine (actual application of the wax and begin the layering process)

I guess for me if I want to bring back some of the color I can decide to either clean / condition, polish, and then shine or just polish then shine.

@RedDevil10 I got some brand new unworn John Lobb Calf shoes sitting in the closet for 8 months now. Should I apply some Saphir cream and wax, or the factory original still keeping them safe? Thanks.

If stored in the dust bags, you should be fine for a bit.

The better question is — why have you had brand new JLs sitting in the closet unworn for eight months?

Thanks for letting me know.

Regarding your q.- It ended up as one of those shoes that never got into rotation, we all had that, Lobb or not. :)

Let's say you've mirror shined the toe of a shoe and it's time to do a standard polishing with cream and the works after a few weeks. Can you put cream directly on the area that's been heavily waxed?

You may, but that is a bit superfluous in my opinion - just refresh the mirrored portion with a bit of Reno (to redistribute the top layer of wax, which may be all you need) and then, if necessary, more wax to restore the mirror shine.
