Lorenzi Shirts

What is the big deal about these?
They seem pretty average to me.

If the q was about Lorenzini.....and it was a typo....
I like their linen shirts, the linen seem to be just one step below my Brioni and cut full. The RLPL label are nice..not outstanding, just nice fabrics, MOP buttons (no crow), side yoke gussets, not much handwork, and not superslim. I am a wee bit big, so they are ok for me.
I would pay between $50 to $80 for them one sale, or lower ofcourse.

They seem totally unremarkable at retail.
Is this an overhyped brand?

IMHO, Lorenzini is a very good machine made shirt. The fabrics and buttons are usually very nice, if conservative. The shirts sold at NM tend to be baggy. The retail prices are absurd (as are many). Even the prices on STP are absurd.

Way overpriced at retail, but I think that's true of many of the shirts popular here.

I have bought shirts they make for Ralph for around $100 which is more than fair I think. I get the sides trimmed a bit by the tailor as they are fairly full for an Italian shirt - not as billowy as the Saks/Neimans Borrelli though.

I think there is a brand called Lorenzi (not to be confused with Lorenzini) which is sold at Off 5th outlets. Never really grabbed me.

Lorenzini....sorry, the better of the two.
I am comparing these to say Truzzi, Barba, and other shirts that in the discount relm are all of similar price.
I bought one today for $3.00, and see this as less quality than say the JWN Nordstrom shirts(the old ones with MOP buttons and a split yoke).
Sure the buttons are thicker and they have gussets, but seriously, the fit is balloon like and the collar is ugly.
It would seem they are of little value in the NWT discount relm even.

The difficulty in discussing shirts is that so much of it, such as collar shape, is subjective. I would describe Kiton shirts the same way you describe Lorenzini, plus they have dirty-looking buttons.

I like Lorenzini. There is a fair amount of variety on fit, but I found that to be true with Borrelli too.

As an aside, years back I was talking to one of the SA at Louis Boston about this brand, and he said they used to carry them but they had a lot of problems with shrinkage, particularly around the neck. Apparently that was one of the reasons they stopped carrying them.

Collars are a particular for me.
I also do not like the Kiton shirts for both reasons Doc mentions.
I do like Barba, and a few other lesser known brands because of the collars, buttons, and fit.

Exactly. The Lorenzini shirts sold in Europe are very different with respect to fit. Also there exist Lorenzini shirts that are (partially) made by hand. The fabrics are usually amazing.
