the pikes place brewery was nothing to write home about, there was a thai joint downtown that was about a 6 and Szechuan Noodle (which came recommended from SF) was an effin joke! i dont know what the people on Yelp are thinking, because of that i skipped Jade Garden (not to mention the cracked out neighborhood).

Most of the dim sum places aren't that great, Jade Garden is hit and miss, though their hits are very good. The service sucks though.

FWIW, it's not just a fish market either, rube.

Oh, also, OP might think about checking out Anchovies and olives up on 15th and madison for some good seafood.

heh, man, you guys are really sensitive about that spot. It has good food and smells like ass. Other than being a glorified Cannery Row, what is the whole obsession with that place?

Dont get me wrong, i started and ended every day there. But only 4 or 5 eateries out of the many there were actually worth a damn (Beechers ). A little overrated if you ask me and nothing compared to a California farmers market

PS. I would like to commend Seattle on having a great bum population! Other than a few dumb street kids trying to sell their garbage, i was not harassed by one homeless person.

In CA we have some of the rudest most aggressive bums you can imagine. The result of an overactive entitlement system in a welfare state. They get pissed when you dont give them change, like you owe them something! But in Seattle, i did not get one snide remark or pissed off grumble the entire time i was there. How do you guys get them so courteous and pacified?

I notice the bums in CA get real irritable and agitated during the hot summer months and seem to hibernate during the winter time. Does it have something to do with your weather patterns? it was mostly overcast when i was there.

CA BUM

Actually, most locals avoid the spot, especially during the summer months. I'm just saying, there's more to the market than standing right in the front and having a salmon shook like a dick in your face.

Hadn't heard of it, will definitely give it a shot. At first I thought you might have meant Mad Pizza which is decent but not mind-blowing (if even still in business).

There's a damn good crepe place near the entrance (flying fish side)

There have been a few anti-pestering laws against homeless, but it's never been too bad. I've gotten a poem from an Ethiopian bum before, gave him a few bucks for an awesome accent A friend of mine from Alaska was scared of the bums in Seattle lol one asked her for change and she replied "no thank you" and ran away
