Would you use drugs if they were legal?

Besides those who use them anyway (because I know someone is bound to say that), if it were okay to partake, would you?

I'd probably go for the herb and mushrooms but would avoid all else. Too many bad side effects.

While it's a popular party drug, I've never tried X. Had a friend on college warn me to never have sex while dropping X though "because regular sex just won't be as good after."

Time for a true story.

Had this patient in the Psych ward who was there for PCP psychosis. Guy wanted to go home. Every day he'd bug the doc about leaving. One day, he was like "Look at all these students. Man, I can teach you guys things." and continued on and on about that for a while.

So the next day, he's again bugging the doc about leaving and she asks him what he would do if he left.

"Well, I could give guidance."

"Oh yeah? What kind of guidance would you give? Give me an example."

"Well, let's say I was in the street and someone wanted to know how to get to X. I could tell them to go down two blocks and take a left. Or let's say someone wanted to use the bathroom. I could tell them to go into Dunkin' Donuts and use the bathroom there. But they'd have to ask the manager for the key."

So here I was thinking that his idea of guidance was continuing with his theme of wanting to teach and there the guy was literally talking about giving directions. Don't do drugs kids...

I used canibis a handful of times. I would like to use it again sometime, but the last times I used it it made me feel blurry for several days afterwords, and so I stopped. That was probrably 12 or more years ago.

You know, outside of alcohol I've never tried anything. None of my friends did. Well, there was my old college roommate who dropped out one semester from graduating and went to live with his cousin, drop acid and get laid. Based on the couple of letters he sent, it was probably a good career move for him, cause even at 22 he still couldn't write a proper sentence.

I'm all for legalising marajuana. However, I have never done any drugs (outside of alcohol).

If they were legal, I still wouldn't do any drugs. Not due to any moral objection to them, I'm just not interested.

The best drugs are already legal with the right little slip of paper.

I wouldn't. Speaking from experience, unfortunately.

nope - I don't even like getting drunk.

I'd probably try LSD on occasion if it were legal. Weed I've already done.. Haven't done it for about a year or so (also makes me slow and groggy for several days after), but would like to partake in the near future.

if you were to do drugs if they were legal, i dont get why you wouldnt do them just because they were illegal.

The whole appeal of drugs is in their illegality.

More socially acceptable for one. Look at alcohol. It's pretty messed up all the effects it can have e.g. drunk driving, overdose, alcoholism and its health and social effects, etc.. Worse than marijuana IMO. Yet so many people around the world partake regularly when they don't touch other stuff.

For myself, and others, we'd lose our job/license if we were tested positive for another.

xtc.. Not to thrilled of this topic being in DT as it is a serious subject, lets see how this works out.

Well, let be the first then.. The surroundings I ended up in resulted in me having done a lot of stuff, marihuana, xtc, speed and coke were a given there. That said, I am forever grateful for my stepdad stepping in and directing me towards a different future, the term junkie would'nt apply here as I was to young (15 to 17) and not using any of that stuff on such a regular basis.

anyways, for several drugs here goes:

marihuana, its allready legal here and a lot of people use it as a recreation drug on the same basis as alcohol. Unfortunately they didnt legalize growing so the illegal growth as gotten stronger on an exponential basis the last 10 years. Not the way to go here, but still one of the most harmless drugs to try.

Xtc, also not that hard to obtain at parties. The problem lies in that you can never really verify the purity of the stuff. If one can manage to get it and be sure of the purity its not that bad to try, there's hardly no addiction to speak of but the 2 days after will look somber and grey.

Speed, or I believe its called methamphetamine across the pond. Don't, the stuff the sell on the streets is allways contaminated with all kinds of crap and it is addictive, and the rush is'nt worth it.

Coke I would'nt recommend trying either, the stuff is sneaky addictive and again never really pure to begin with, the power trip you get from it is really seducive.

All that said I probably would use any of it ever again, marihuana I tried this winter again on Tobago and I remembered why I did'nt like the stuff in the first place, I like being active. So i'll just stick to the alcohol which is a lot more accepted in society

Lets see if this backfires on me
