Levi's jeans not made in the USA -- isn't this just wrong? - Page 2

When a company becomes more about selling a brand name or an image, you can usually kiss domestic production goodbye. The thing is, if our economy gets any worse you might see some of these companies returning home to produce their goods (but don't hold your breath). Check this site out if you're interested in US-produced goods. www.stillmadeinusa.com

American companies that forget where their roots are, have just fallen to greed.  Someone in a suit and tie became a hero by coming up with a great idea to make big profits by making products cheaper.  He has probably forgotten that this country was built by middle class working families (which have become less and less)  Funny thing is price of the products has not really fallen to reflect this savings, and we still pay. Until the consumer takes a stand big business will not listen. Either way we pay for this trend,  pay a few extra dollars for a pair of jeans or a pair of boots or pay it in taxes to support people who have lost their jobs to this mentality.

Its a vicious circle though, need to stretch a buck so that $15 pair of jeans at walmart look real good. I hope it's almost time that Americans start realizing that its time to take care of ourselves.  REALITY CHECK  CHINAS KICKING OUR ASS  with our own money.  Look where all the massive construction jobs are taking place CHINA. WAKE UP ina couple generations well be making products for china. Hopefully something will change, but it will only happen with the help of everyone.

I don't quite agree with that view, quality of Chinese products have increased exponentially, and so has cost. I really doubt you can get it for $100 now.

I agree, the whole point of Levi is that it started in the US and it's supposed to be mfged in the US. Who even wears Levi's anymore? I might if they brought back all their mfg back to the US! I will never wear it again!

Lots and lots of people, for better or for worse.

They have a Made in the USA line (in addition to LVC) nowadays, btw.
