Is this a wedding tie?

If not, would it be a wedding tie if the blue were black? How about navy?

Thanks.

That's a basketweave.

If the blue were black it would be close enough.

Personally my definition of a "Wedding Tie" is one that you never remove sober

I have a Charvet tie with the same pattern that is black and silver. To me, it seems appropriate to wear at a wedding.

Have you seen this thread discussing wedding ties?

Could be, I guess. Depends on the wedding. How formal is it?

Thanks Will. I love your blog, by the way.

I have, thanks. But I did not see an unambiguous statement in that thread as to whether a blue and silver woven tie like the one above would qualify as a wedding tie.

Am I right that the tie below is unequivocally a wedding tie?

I really don't know what should and shouldn't be a 'wedding tie' so Im probably completely wrong and someone will correct me, but I wouldn't have thought houndstooth to be entirely appropriate for a wedding? Edit: Nevermind, I just checked the link above and I am, as expected, completely wrong! (Though I still think a macclesfield or a check would look better)

is it true, what i heard; that that pattern is not actually houndstooth, but 'puppystooth' - as the pattern is much smaller/tighter together. have you guys heard that term before?

IMHO that tie would be fine with a mid gray suit.
