Aspartame

I drink roughly one can of Coke Zero or Diet Coke once every day or two. Is this a bad idea? I've read the studies about aspartame and, while they are inconclusive, they do make me nervous. Thoughts?

I personally avoid aspartame, notsomuch due to the potential (but unproven) health risk, moreso because of the sickly sweet aftertaste.

Why do you drink it?

You've made a lot of posts lately about improving your health, which is great. I started the same thing about 6 months ago, and everyone has something that snags them. It was easy for me to stop drinking soda. What's holding you back -- think about it it -- and try to stop doing it. Where do you buy it? Stop going there. Or pack a SIGG full of ice cold water. Boom. done.

I have a relative who claims aspartame is worse than smoking. I think he's crazy but you never know...I personally avoid it because I don't like the taste.

Teach yourself to like club soda. If, one day, you decide to return to diet/normal soda, you'll be disgusted beyond any chance of making a habit out of it. Seriously.
