I think that's pretty much why.

I love the look of a three-piece. Hope to own a nice one some day.

Over here in the UK Primark (bottom of the barrel copyright skirting sweat shop clothes on the ultra cheap) is going all out selling three pieces. How do I know? I was lost looking for the exit. Yeah that'll do. I was lost.

Having filled my wardrobe with three pieces my elitist heart sinks a little.

Why stop there? Sooner than we imagine they will leave the fly undone and have a bit of shirt tail peeking out. The new style will save them having to sew in a zipper. Bespoke trousers of course will be available with a functioning fly closure.

I'm not a big fan of the three-piece, I must say. I have one, and don't think I've ever worn the vest. I keep walking by a 3-piece in the Banana Republic windows, and I don't think it looks very good.

I like this outfit better...



As for the 3 piece.....meh.....I don't like it. Now, if TaT threw down some 3-pieces then my mind may be changed.

It is late 70's, 80's style all over again. Thats when I last had mine.

I enjoyed a navy pinstripe three piece for my banker meetings and major presentations in those days. I also had a nice tweed three piece for more casual dressy events and travel. That suit was amazing when I ran into bitter, cold weather.

But after a couple of years, the extra layer, with a vest just seemed a little restrictive and I enjoyed moving on to newer, modern two-piece styles.

Hopefully what this means is at least the option of three piece suits in lower priced brands.

The newest BR suits are all fused Chinese garbage, as far as I've experienced. They might look nice, but not a fan of the price : quality ratio.

J.Crew features the three-piece, too.

Probably more the low rise than anything else. Are those trousers flat front.

I have one BR sportcoat, and I like the look of it, but it feels like I'm wearing a cardboard box. I've tried on other BR jackets and they all feel the same way.

As for the waistcoat length in the pic, I actually like it, and I've seen other labels style theirs similarly. Only problem I have with this pic is the tie is sticking out the bottom.

My first bespoke suits will definitely be 3 piece with extra pair of trousers. I mean, adding a vest doesn't cost that much and vests could be worn other ways too.

+1. I'm a few years from 40...no reason to look older than I have to.

I bought a 3 piece from BR not that long ago (thankfully not at full price) and it fits me well.

If I recall, this is right before Roger's first heart attack. He probably should have kept the suit on.
