So, we now have a mass-marketer (that thankfully is not Men's Wearhouse) pushing the three-piece suit to younger men. Thoughts? Is this a trend? For lower-end suits some of them are quite natty.
BR has offered vests off and on, but I'm happy to see them pushing the three-piece. Definitely a trend, I think. Casino Royale (and other pop culture appearances) have done the three-piece a world of good.

Tsk, tsk. Waistcoat's too short (and/or trousers have too low a rise: belt (!) is peeking out).
But nice to see, though.
I actually spoke with some of their senior corporate visual / stylists who are actually responsible for putting out these "outfits" and found out that they delibrately make the vests short (and with 5 buttons instead of 6) so that the inverted V (of opening) shows the belt buckle.
When I asked why is that needed? I was told because this is the way you are supposed to wear the vest .... and I left it at that.
I agree with rjmaiorano, there is no way in hell I'm paying $800 for a BR suit. Not to distract from the focus of the post AGAIN, buuuuut...did anyone else see that Scott Schuman is in a GAP ad?
I was in the Michigan Avenue store back in June and I think they had some linen three piece suits or separates that looked pretty sharp in white. Of course, the mannequin had the vest buttoned all the way so I took it upon myself to correct that.
With the short vests on these the first thing that came to mind was Justin Timberlake as MrDaniels mentioned. And something about them just looks blah to me so I think I'll pass.
