FS: HERMES TIE- The Hong Kong Jockey Club - Never worn

A good friend is (almost) as passionate about his clothes as me. He knows that I "dabble" in online sales, and every now and then he'll ask me to list something for him. In the past it's mostly been items such as a pair of Limited Edition Gucci Sneakers, or several pairs of Prada hiking boots. But this time when he called and asked me to stop by, he said that he had something "special"... I think he was right. He told me that he had literally forgotten about this tie, which until now had been sitting in its original box on a shelf in his bedroom closet. Undisturbed. KBW- If you want to trash-talk Hermes ties, that's up to you. But do it in your own thread as a topic in Mens Clothing, and please be so kind as to keep your negative comments to yourself when you're in my sales thread! Since joining the SF I've commented about this many times, and as often as I see it happen it still never fails to amaze me... I've been a member, as well as moderator, in over 1/2 dozen forums for nearly 10 years. And this sort of inconsiderate crap would not be tolerated in any other forum's classifieds! It may not be a B&S sale...per se. But it's still my thread...and I'm the one who's trying to sell something. If I wanted this to be a "discussion" thread I would not have posted it in the B&S! And I would have posted under the title "What do you think about this tie?" Regardless, I have no doubt that my intentions are obvious, and it's damned inconsiderate for anyone to come into another person's thread and say anything that could potentially sabotage a sale.

You can use any excuse you like...but it was still inconsiderate. And it was against the rules. Copied from the posted B&S rules: Posting in someone else's thread to say the equivalent of "that's a ripoff, I saw those for less than that, blah blah" is not acceptable. Buyers here are very well informed and if it's not a good deal they won't buy it. They have a right to ask any price they want, even an unreasonable one, and you have the right not to pay it. I must have missed that... Perhaps you could show me where it says that posting links to e-bay is not in the spirit of the B&S. If members couldn't post links to ebay, that would mean that there are a whole lot of people in the B&S breaking that rule...on a very regular basis.
