Do You Use Handkerchiefs? - Page 4

I carry one at all times. I just re-stocked. I picked up a 13 pack at Fielene's Basement for $9.99. I may go 3 or 4 days with out needing it but when you do it is priceless.

I always carry two, one for myself and one to give away/lend, should the need arise.

Kabbaz's site lists a "top-quality" Irish linen handkerchief for $70: http://www.customshirt1.com/Hanks01.htm Add in hand-done monogramming at $40, and you're looking at $110 for one handkerchief. God help you should you require "complex" embroidery, starting at $78.

Heh- I figure there are a number of folks here who would drop that given willingness to drop 5 figures on a watch.

One problem I've encountered is that when you spray your handkerchief with scent, more often than not, there's a slight stain.
I always have one in my pocket. I never blow my nose in a hanky - like somebody said, tissues are better for that - but in a warm climate after a walk you really do need something to wipe your brow. And your face. And your neck. And your scalp. For that a handkerchief is the way to go.

Unless I'm in sweats, I always have one with me, usually in my right back pants pocket. I use them mainly for cleaning my reading glasses and occasionaly for mopping my brow. It goes in the laundry hamper every Monday, usually without ever having been unfolded during the previous week. Over the years I've built up quite a back stock from getting them as gifts.

I've given away at least four or five to damsels in varying needs of distress, some I've known and some I haven't - once to a fellow juror with a snuffly nose, another to a menopausal colleague who burst into tears during a touchy-feely leadership training class that we were required to attend, another to a date at a chick flick, etc. I always let them get them, saying I've got dozens more.

They were patterned for a practical reason.

In Victorian times, tuberculosis sufferers would carry white handkerchiefs trimmed in scarlet lace to hide expectorated blood.

I always have a pocket square in the breast pocket and it bothers me that the jacket will bulge slightly on that side. To even it out a little, I keep a handkerchief in the inside pocket of the other side of my jacket. Does anyone else do this?

Since I already have a PS & (THICK) pen on one side, I put my wallet in the other inside pocket.

My spare hankie is usually in my right outside pocket as that is where I usually put my hand & the right lower inside pocket is wear I keep y card case & car fob.

I usually carry one when wearing a suit. Especially when going out dancing, and always during the summer. Pretty handy for mopping my brow.

I use plain white one, in a linen-cotton mix. It absorbs perspiration pretty well, and they are relatively cheap (9 euros for a package of 3). Nothing fancy, but it does the job. I usually carry it in my inner left breast pocket.

I often keep an extra paper napkin from Starbucks or Panera Bread in my jacket's inner pocket to use when it is needed.
