Wow. I love bourbon. My new favorite drink.

Burbon is wonderful, especially this time of the year! I was sipping some in my armchar last night watching Old School, does it get any better?

I had Bookers and Basil Hayden's at a friend's place yesterday. They were very good, but I preferred BH better.

You know, I don't think I like Eagle Rare 10yr as much as I like Woodford.. Hmm Will probably try something else next. Here is some of the less typical stuff at my local store in the price range, what looks good? Weller 10yr Elmer T Lee Jeffersons Henry McKenna Russels Reserve Old Rip 10yr 1792 Elijah Craig 12yr Evan Williams 10yr etc...

For the money, it is very hard to beat Elijah Craig 12yr. The Evan Williams Single Barrel (10yr) has a very heavy char flavor that I have trouble getting past, even though I want to like it - I have to be in the right mood. Any of the Van Winkles is a good bet, although I haven't tried the 10 yr - only the 12, 15 and 20. I really don't see anything on your list that wouldn't be worth trying.

Get the Elmer. Do it. Also the E-Craig is good stuff, not as sweet as others IMO but it rates pretty well.

Enjoying a couple of fingers of knob creek with a decent sized ice cube. Delicious. A slightly chilled bourbon seems to have more complexity than just room temperature with some water. Sweeter attack, smoother finish without the burn of drinking it neat.

Knob Creek is always my go-to bourbon (I'm not a fan of Makers at all) and I might buy myself a bottle of Bookers every once in a while. If I'm feeling cheap I'll buy some Wild Turkey 101 or Old Grand Dad Bonded (I guess I like the best ABV bang for my buck).

How do y'all feel about Rye whiskey? They're making a comeback of late (the past two years). I've had Sazerac and the Jim Beam lately. Canadian Club is probably the best known one -- not a ringing endorsement.
