Jesus. It's been a few months since I've purchased one, it's now $65 for Four Roses barrel picks in MI. A year ago I think I paid $50ish.

It's been $65 or so at the Liquor Barn pretty much all year. Picked up a couple bottles earlier this year.

Think I'll go pick up some Four Roses Single Barrel for $34.95 tonight and enjoy one of the few perks of living in the far North.

how are the high west ryes

High West Rendezvous is worth trying if you can get your hands on it cheap (sub-$50) IMHO.  I prefer a less aggressive, more tempered rye like E.H. Taylor or the old standby Rittenhouse, but drinking an insanely high rye mashbill like Rendezvous will offer a cool frame of reference.  Makes a sazerac that will knock you back a bit if powerful cocktails are your thing.

Their "Midwinter Night's Dram" is Rendezvous finished in port casks and is worth a try if you can find it

NYI I'm sure you're getting one of these since you basically get every 4R pick. It's really really good.

Just finished a bottle of OESK. Really good stuff

K and O are my favorite with K being the slight favorite. I tended to gravitate towards the B mash but the last few pours I've had of various Es have been really dawn good. Even the Icons OESF was really good and I'm not a huge fan of F

The F has grown on me a lot lately. Get lots of sweet tobacco and BBQ from them, especially the older ones.
