I'm not a fan of it either, but I do believe it can give some hot kick to what is a notoriously smooth blend.

After week of reading and research and looking for elusive bourbons I walked into a random stew Leonard's liquor store. Was browsing the bourbon section when an sa put a bottle of George t stagg straight bourbon in front of me. Paid 90 something which isn't too bad considering they're going for 200 plus on wine searcher.

Also got the latest release of Parker's heritage for a good friend for like 80.

I think I have recently confirmed I am not a Bourbon guy at all. I'm firmly in the rye camp. Criticize me (especially for this attempted thread hijack - though related)

That seems odd to me, especially since many bourbons have a distinct rye taste to them. What kinds have your tried?

LOVE it. Found it at $120 in Jersey, tried it, liked it so much I called the place and had them hold me a second. First bottle is just about finished.

It is very nice. The elijah craig 12 might be my favorite value bourbon and the 21 is very good (if admittedly a little oaky)

Yes. It's really tough to find. I've come across one bottle this year.
