I don't know, probably. I've known her husband since I was a little kid. I've know her for probably 15 years; we've always been friendly. I'm not smitten with her, just attracted.

You live once, maybe she too wants something different than her present status. On the other hand, there is betrayal, the guilt of betrayal and the baggage of responsibility after the lust has waned.

Being attracted is one thing, acting on it is another. In other words exercise some self control or you could find out what a royal cluster fuck is all about.

I find that in these situations it's useful to consider what I would cause to happen if I acted on such a mere crush--what I would think of myself, whether the wife would break down and break my friend's heart, causing the disintegration of a household, etc. For me, that can go a long way toward moving from active desire to academic attraction, which is comfortable and totally acceptable. Until they suggest a threesome, but I think that only happens in movies (and supposedly raises its own problems).
