Yeah. Today it is the main story here in Italy, together with the Olympic Games. The accident was not his fault: as it seems, a 78 yo driver didn't see him arriving on his scooter, and thus didn't give him way. Such a shame: he was one of the few truly good entepreneurs we have in our country, although he made his mistakes (Cadillac Allantè in the first place).

Luca di Montezemolo is no chopped liver either.
When he took over, Ferrari was in the toilet while Maserati was a sick joke.
And look @ them now.

Well, Maserati still has to report a profit... Anyway, you're right. What I - and with me a lot of people - don't like about Montezemolo are his political ambitions: since his election as president of Confindustria (Italian employers' federation) he began talking publicly about politics and what politicians should or shouldn't do to recover our national economy. You know, being FIAT's president, his word was to be taken seriously. But he never took a clear position on an issue, never decided who should be supported by the entepreneurs or never decided to enter the competition. Many words gone to the wind, in the end. Still, a very skilled entepreneur.
