I regret not telling my father i loved him and how much I looked up to him while he was still alive.
This post made me tear up.  Men aren't very good at expressing their feelings, but somehow I think your dad knew.

At least you'll be able to afford a few Barba shirts and live with your regret, while I'll be supporting lawyers with my regret (malpractice insurance ~$200,000).
One word:  dermatology.  Sure you'll be, as George Costanza described it, "one step above the Clinique counter," but I can't imagine that you'll be on call or paying lots of malpractice insurance premiums.

I once read that it's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done. I've found this to be true. My biggest regrets are things like not spending enough time with people before they passed away, opportunities I didn't act on, suits on sale I didn't buy, etc. Life is short - we might as well make the most of it.

I dunno, I'd rather regret not having bought a lovely bespoke suit when I had the chance than regret having selfishly taken an action that ended up hurting a loved one.

Searing insight, really, but you're comparing apples and oranges. Of course you would regret, say, dropping a hydrogen bomb on innocent people more than passing up that stick of gum at lunch. That's not the point.
