quick allen edmond question - Page 8

Are they on different lasts (I don't own either and can't be arsed to look it up)?

If you don't know the answer, post the numbers inside your shoes and we'll tell you.

the Burton has 11 D 1132 below that 9704 Dryden 11D 1802 9849 thanks!

That means they're both on the No. 2 last (it's the "last" number on the first line), so you'd expect them to fit similarly... Hmm...

hmmmm, that is weird could it be a function of the leather on the drydens being harder or something. it seems like they are bit stiffer?

If I recall correctly, AE Burton is a blucher, Dryden a Bal. Even on the same last, they'll fit a bit differently. (I find the former a bit more forgiving and the latter a bit tighter around the forefoot/instep.) But if the shoe fits, it should open up some after a few wearings.

question, if i am an 11.5D in park aves and most AE lace ups. would you recommend me to stick to that in the thayer monkstrap?

also, the shoe guy at the store I was at, said that I should 11Ds in the AE slip ons? do you guys typically do that?

they were a bit snug but he said they stretch out. the 11.5ds had my heel slipping out.

It's a tough call. Are your toes pinched? That's not going to stretch a ton. OTOH, it's no good for your heels to be slipping out of slip ons.

Will these issuses go away once I break them in? (its weird since they are almost the same size)

.

I have the Drydens in my regular size. They were super tight on the top of the shoe so I had them stretched at a cobbler. They still don't fit as well as my other Allen Edmonds.

I'm also not a huge fan of the square-ish toe box but women seem to love the shoe so ....

Shoot first ask questions later. Goes double when there's an easy return policy.
