Suit jackets with jeans

i wear my paul stuart navy suit jacket with jeans, loafers, a cufflink shirt and no tie. i am wondering what other suit jackets are "OK". The paul stuart jacket has side vents, and looks sporty with jeans. can i get away with middle vent suit jackets with jeans, or colors other than navy? can i wear pinstripe jackets with jeans? or stick with solids. i know i need sport jackets, all in time.

meantime, i really like a fancy jeans, loafers, cufflink shirt, or cashmere turtle neck and jacket look. jeans alow me to have more of a downtown look while the jakets keeps me ok for meetings.

does anyone mix suits and casual attire??

M'yes. I mix jeans and suit jackets often. I stick with heavy, textural fabrics for the jackets, like heavy flannels, birdseye, or hopsack. And pretty fashion jeans. The wrong way to do this look it to wear a lightweight suit jacket that is not well fitted and non-fashion jeans. This is creepy looking.

Jeans and a jacket are my default outfit because it allows me to mix with the slobbishly casual but still look good, and it allows me to maintain my vow to wear a jacket and tie every day of my life.
