Cafe spiaggia is good...but is it any less expensive than blackbird?

Obviously alinea is in a whole different price range...but I am not sure I remember much of a price differance between the cafe and something like blackbird.

You could also try riccardo trattoria...there is a $33 3-course menu that includes a glass of prosecco (and the individual menu items are in a similar range)

also is there any wine bar or so that offers high end wines btg? i want to try d'yquem and foie.

clothing store recs would be nice, but i think i'd rather spend money on food

If you want italian, go to Osteria via Stato... very cheap, good food. Cafe Spiaggia isn't as good.

With several recs in this thread...I will have to try this.

I have eaten at the attached pizza place several times and quite liked it.

not sure what kind of people would go down to uchicago trolling for sex, but whatever floats yer boat.

but if you are in the hyde park area, there is a decent place to eat. may i suggest harold's chicken shack on kimbark and woodlawn, something i know conne would especially enjoy.

Hyde park- Ribs n Bibs, Chole's and a little further south, Leon's...

No love for Pilsen?

Obvious recommendations- Nuevo Leon, Abuelo's, Honkey Tonk BBQ and Simone's.

For kewl hipster clothing, knee deep.

Indesertum, check out the What Did you Eat Last Night thread. I went to the Bristol last night, and you can see the massive amount of incredibly well prepared food we ate for pretty little money. It's my favorite spot in the city.

i included bristol on your recommendation and the pics i saw in that thread. food looks and sounds delicious tons of good recs i think i'm going to add architectural boat tour dessert course at tru bbq at honkey tonk, fat willies, or honey 1 osteria via stato maproom and the wholefoods. i hope they have sake i dunno how viable everything is in terms of distance, but i have a week. thanks for the recs guys

I'm not a fan of public transport and prefer to drive but getting a 5 day unlimited pass will get you all around the city with ease. The LP Whole foods has a small sake selection. I don't know of anywhere in the city with a large selection.

also are there any reputable short term apartment lease sites?

Conne needs to go to Rush Street for an evening. No visit to Chicago is complete without going there.
