buy some deglazer from fiebings or angelus. these are designed exactly for this purpose so you dont have to dilute acetone or whatever else is suggested.

2-4 lumps of ice, slice of lime and 3 parts coke

Make sure to shake it and not stir it.

Went to Zee's recently after seeing some of the photos posted here. I was hoping to get a pair made but must admit that I was quite turned off by the quality of the leather and workmanship. The price quoted was HKD1,500 for the French calf-skin and HKD1,350 for suede. And it should take 4 days.

Zee was very nice and friendly and willing to work with you on any pattern. He had a good selection of leather in term of color. With the sample leather that he showed me, there must have been between 8-10 shades (including blue).

The quality of the leather was not very good in my mind (I wasn't expecting EG quality to begin with; but I think his is slightly below Loake). The workmanship (especially the punched holes and brogue pattern) was also not very good. I was quite disappointed, especially after comparing to the pictures of the shoes posted by Benjamin here, the sample shoes that he showed me look very different in term of quality. I am not sure if it's mainly because of the polishing technique but, if it is, then it might be worth a try to order a pair and do the polishing yourself.

Picked up a pair of "Gucci Loafers" from Zee this week. This is my second buy from Zee and the fit this time is spot on. I'm very happy with these.

i am sure the shoes are great but why on earth post thumbnails sized pictures?

Because I don't know how to post larger ones that's why. Doesn't appear to be a way on the site so I'm stuck with thumbnails. Any assistance would be gratefully received.
