Anyone know if the Richard James items at Bergdorf Goodman are on sale? Specifically the cashmere sweaters?

The sweaters are really nice.  Large selection, all the different sizes, great fabrics.  Nice selection of leather jackets.
zjpj, the sweaters you posted are really nice. Are they cashmere? How much? And how much are those leather jackets? RJman, I saw some Richard James shirts on sale at Barneys last week end.

Yeah, 100% cashmere. They are quite thick and very nice. With unlimited funds I would have bought half a dozen. $795 retail - $200 The leather jackets (actually, they were mostly suede) had a wide range - $1600 to $3000 retail. They are all 75% off. One suede jacket I liked a lot had a $600 markdown price, so still somewhat expensive.

Filene Basement: top of the line Luciano Barbera Collezione Sartoriale and Oxxford suits 50% off, was $999 now $500. Dunhill: 50% off now. They now carry Poulsen Skone Russian calf, $1500/pair. They have 3 or 4 models on display. The leather is very soft with distinctive markings. The salesperson told me they'd never be on sale. C21: 50% off Isaia suits $999 marked down to $500. Plus they have a sales tax free sale till this Sun. C21 absorbs sales taxes on items that aren't exempt from sales tax. Colors are mostly in charcoal (with purple lining), navy and black plus few glen plaids and pin strips. Definitely best buys of the season. I bought 2 of them. I am heading back some time this week, anybody interested I'd be happy to pick some up for you. Anyone knows when Neiman Marcus at Short Hills, Paramus or White Plains going to start the Last Call sales if they haven't started already? What's their stocks and prices like? Is it worth a cross-river trip to NJ?

VR, Were the 38s in any basic colors (navy or charcoal in any muted pattern)? I'm feeling quite Ernest, and can't justify adding a brown suit to my limited wardrobe.

The only shorts they have are in 42 & 46. There's one 38R which is glen plaid, very nice fabric and cut.

Picked up a black 3 button Brioni at 799 and a Borrelli merino wool sweater for 39 at c21 (no more cashmere, ah well.) It was an utter and complete zoo today... totally unbelievable. I'm looking for a nice sport coat to wear with jeans, and C21's selection was pretty barren... does Filene's usually have a decent range? -s

sashae, did you find any Isaia your size?  At $500, Isaia is a better deal than Brioni. Went to a house warming party in NJ this weekend and made a side trips to Neiman Marcus at Short Hills and Paramus for their Last Call sales.  Even at 50% off marked price, suits are still too expensive, i.e. Brioni $1600, Zegna $800.  Prices for shirts are better, Brioni $125, Borrelli $115, Fray $200.  Ties T&A, Charvet, Hermes double 4-fold, Borrelli 7-fold all marked down to $40's.  Sutor Mantellassi wholecut $795 down to $296. Selections are still plentiful for casual wear.

I actually didn't see any Isaia at all, although I may have been looking in the wrong spot. I felt fortunate to find the suit I wanted (the dread black 3-button) in my size.. I haven't removed the tags yet, so I may venture down to see if there's any Isaia as well. Thanks for the tip. -s

Unlike Brioni, Isaia doesn't have its own section, Isaia suits are all mixed in with others in the sales section.
