What.....a LR3 for 18 grand!

If I had the extra cash to spend, and a closer commute, I'd be very interested.

Used Land Rovers are known to depreciate very badly as it is - I'd hate to see the drop in values since gas skyrocketed. Discovery's, etc. are very popular with the college kids around here who want to look like they drive a much more expensive vehicle than they actually do. Seems to fit in well with the whole Southern trad scene.

perhaps this is mainly becuase LR has a reputation for being bad quality when it comes to maintenance adn recalls....the LR3 was either number one or two for recalls, and LR usually leads for issues like this...seatbelt malfunctions were an issue recently if i recall correctly. consumer reports is always bitching about them.
you want to talk depriciation...cadillacs as usual!

but yes, at the price they are selling them at, unless you are driving a ton, it can be mathematically cheaper to get a suv at such a discount that it doesn't matter what the gas costs.

kinda like the truck im driving right now....i can buy a whole lot of gas at any price...its not going to make me suddenly have a car payment )
ill hold off until early next year....right when the last of my bills are paid off and my raise takes effect )

i rock a black 2000 s2000 as well but since i bought it used about 4 years ago i'm still a year away from paying off the lease. have been thinking a lot about what to do once i own it.

i really want to keep it and add a second car like you have done but i'm thinking more of some luxo mark like a 3 series or audi a4 so i can use that as a daily driver and have a comfortable ride and space and an auto tranny. i just have little real use for a vehicle as large as a truck or suv.

what kind of deals are they doing on new trucks anyways? i hear great numbers on the used models but it seems like new models should be going cheap as well.
