My b/w AE Broastreets just saw this picture and went out into the yard to hang themselves.  Cruel world.

That's just too funny.

Am I the only bloke on SF who just happens to loathe that Crispin brogue medallion? It's like a poorly installed broken fountain for the Sochi olympics.

I have to say I've not given it any thought, distracted as I was by the overall awesomeness.

Roger, that's amazing!

I'm exactly the same with sizing. 7F in UK , but 8.5D for the Allen Edmonds shoes I have from the US.
The shocked reaction over on the Loake thread was making me doubt my size.

Apologies if this is out-of-turn but there's a very nice pair of C&J for RL specs on eBay UK right now.  Not mine and too small for me... marked 10D

Who currently makes a quality RTW leather and nubuck/suede or leather and canvas spec?  Preferably in stock in NYC.  I've found the Brooks Brothers Edward Green calf & canvas captoe but not much else.

Mr Carraway, thank you for joining our company. I take it you have recovered after that dreadful business with Mr Gatsby, who tried the re-live the past far too seriously?

Cheaney makes a nice mid-price spectator, either as part of their own or Herring's collection.

+1.  Herring have excellent service, and will ship to NY in three days easy.  I have the Herring "Henley" (leather and canvas), made by Cheaney, in two different guises including that above - on the slender 2003 last, and the chestnut and grey one on the roomier 125 last.  I think this has been replaced by the "Edwin".  Vary your search terms as I don't think this is exhaustive, but it's a good start.

Another good UK retailer is Pediwear.  Check various offerings from Barker in particular - Cambridge, Jackman and (if you're pimp enough) Puccini, spring to mind.  Again, great service and they also ship by EMS which might save some import charges if you're in the US (means USPS delivery).

If you're a UK 9.5G (US 10.5E/EE) then I have a few pairs that are too big for me...
