Those work real well with those slacks. Nice pairing.

Something you don't see every day. (Did I just say that about a pair of spectators?) LOL

Thank you, Sir.

Best part is I got the slacks for 1/3 regular price the day before; hence the combo.

This. I am sorely tempted but can't justify the Hamptons, even at $150 or so, given I already have Broadstreets.

I am practically dancing with happiness at mine!  I've definitely got shoes with better leather, and the last shape seems a little slack around the arch, but the overall look of them is great, and they wear very light and easy which is great for where I live.  Daily bread indeed.

In the mean time, same colour but different materials - does this count as a spectator?

Mimo - good question - I asked it on another forum and didn't get an answer.  I thought contrasting colour was a defining element of the spectator, but I could be wrong.  To me, these are blue wingtips made from two different materials for the uppers.  But they are very nice regardless of the label.

I think I answered this question in the affirmative earlier in this thread or another, but it's definitely hard to define  They're actually black, it's just the light. But I think especially when more colourful e.g. browns/tans, the difference in material amounts to the same thing.  Either way, I admit I was hoping to find the blue and brown ones, and still have an eye open for those!  In the mean time, I'll define these as adelaide-pseudo-spectators and enjoy having a smart-ish black shoe for work that feels like wearing sandals!

The bank is pretty much empty following my AE excesses (a cordovan pair just hit the post too...), but there is another pair of specs calling to me from elsewhere.  You will be the first to know!

not trying to criticize. Sadly, there is no real modern rtw spectator market today. Competition is very low, thus strong sales. For what is available today, they are nice.

10E, my friend, 10E...just PM me when those peaches fall!  In the mean time, I'll just make do (and buy more modern stuff...)

I have a problem with Cordovan - it makes me drool - I'll look forward to those and whatever other treats arrive at your door.

Just noticed spectators in the top shoe store in Sydney's Strand Arcade. Have not seen that before. They must be about to roll out Down Under. Just got a vintage pair made like a saddle shoe. Pics further down the track .

Give me the ones in your avatar :inlove:

I know these are not spectators, but at least they're two colors, and a different look.

Just arrived today, Allen Edmonds Shelton, Special Make Up in linen and brown calf:

Saddle Shoes, or as we used to call them, Rah Rahs, 'cause the cheerleaders all wore them.
