Hey All. I am new to the forum but I am a 22 year old male looking to see what everyones view is on Penguin clothing. I am pretty new to high end clothing and just wanted to get some opinions and maybe some comparisons with other higher end names. Thanks.

I don't think it is considered as high-end clothing but they make decent clothes and it is a good deal when on sale. I got a couple of cotton pants from them that fit me well for around $25 each (retail: $70-$80). Quality is decent too, nothing too special but good enough for that price.

Yeah, I think they're good at what they do. The cuts are generally on the slim side and the overall quality is pretty good too (atleast judging on the basis of the 5 or so items I've from them).

Especially on sale they're a good deal.

Lots of nice stuff....and some of it is crap.

Some of their clothes have odd color choices (very drab, usually), but it's easy to avoid those.

That's hard to answer, maybe some more details on what you like would help. However, I notice that many people who like Original Penguin also wear Modern Amusement, Lacoste, and Ben Sherman. However, I don't know if most people on this forum would wear those brands too often.

If you spend some time searching through the forum, I'm sure you'll learn of many new brands very quickly, and you just might like some of them.

They make a lot of ****** stuff for Dilliard's with giant penguin graphic shirts...but their better stuff is well-cut, $100-$150 quality for half the price or less. P

not good enough to justify buying it for its retail price

Great slim fitting stuff if you can catch it on sale.. which is to say, almost always. Solid quality as well.

They usually have a decent sale section in store, and a decent selection of sale items on their website.

Their stuff frequently shows up in Filenes Basement/Century 21 type places as well, though with little selection and odd sizes.

They make some great short sleeve button downs I buy a lot of.

Most of my shirts from here are on the more casual side, though some of them are suit+tie material..

Unfortunately I have not found another brand with quite the same style/fit/price/quality balance..

Love it for the price. My main gripe is that they put their logo on everything, like so many others. I'd like it better without the branding. Still, it's not a dealbreaker. When I can find something that fits well on sale I'm all over it.

Nordy Rack and Off Saks always have Penguin on sale. Their stuff is crap at full price. The fabric they use will shrink big time. I wear Penguin because I like the prints and detailing, but I will only buy it on sale.
