Where to buy a kitchen knife sharpening stone?

My girlfriend recently purchased a set of Furi kitchen knives for me (not the best I know) and I'm looking for a proper sharpening stone for them. Have already checked L&T, BBB, etc. and found nothing but those awful diamond sharpeners. Any comments on technique would be appreciated as well!

Two sources are

For touching up, you'll want a fine grit. I have the 1500 fine grit from the first link. It's surprising how much metal these things can take off. Rough would be for starting from scratch with a dull blade.

I picked up a nice set of stones at my local Woodcraft store.

As you probably know, you are looking for Japanese water stones. You should look for 1000- 1500 grit for your main stone and 4000 to 6000 for polishing stone, which you can get later. A way to save money is to get a combination stone that is basically two stones glued together. You would also need some way to keep your stones flat. You can use a rough stone like a 400 grit, a dedicated 'Stone fixer" or a piece of glass with sand paper on it in a pinch. Korin has a decent inexpensive stone fixer here. Korin also has a small PDF sharpening guide and a sharpening DVD they sell for $30 which is not bad.
