The tag, with the fraction 36/50 appears to be the size tag, but i don't know what to make of it. I mean, the top and bottom are not equivlent US to European size, so it must mean something else right? can someone tell me what the fraction mean, or is it another totally different size system? I really need to know so I can exchange this for a right size (i can't physically go there to try it on). This is a versace jeans couture sportscoat, made in italy, looks authetic enough, has original tags with Ittierre tag. I am size 36R, so what number over what number should I exchange this for?

the item was listed online as a 36, which is why i bought it in the first place. However, when it arrived, the jacket was tagged with this weird sizing system that i've never seen before as a size 36/50. Neither has the seller apparently, since she just used the top number. I found another suit on ebay with the same size listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW and it looks like 36/50 = a size 40 or 42 (my jacket has similar measurements as well)....now i'm just curious how to make the conversion from a US 36 back to that fraction system.

Versace sizes run differently. It's quite possible the garment is a 36, and will fit you.

that auction is for a european 50. I don't know what the 36 is. Look at the waist measurement on the trousers. A 36 should have a waist of 28-30. Dan

Items from Versus, D&G (not Dolce & Gabbana main line), and Versace Jeans Couture all seem to use this sizing, perhaps they are all made by the same manufacturer. I believe that the number you should be looking at is the larger of the two, 50, which should translate to a 40 american. I have a shirt by D&G that is sized 36/50, and it fits about like a typical 50 Eu/40 US shirt. Chest is about 44". I have no idea where the 36 comes into play. Must be their own sizing scale or something.
