For members of my dining partymewho don't or can't drink, and want something beyond Pellegrino or Diet Coke, which Manhattan restaurants offer non-alcoholic beverage pairing tasting menu?

The only restaurants I have been with that offering are Per Se and Aquivat. Anywhere else?

Gramercy Tavern offers some interesting non-alcoholic choices in this menu. Normandy apple and pear ciders may also work as they often only 2% or 3% alcohol content.

Leave the kids at home. I don't want to see juice boxes on a table.

What if they're upright Christian adults?

Any upscale restaurant will do something for you - but you need to request it in advance. Say you're mormon or something and they may even make the pairings good. For what it is worth, I had an EXCELLENT non alcoholic drink at Per Se last week: flat water with some type of fruit in it; made for an INCREDIBLE taste that went well with wine. (I did both non alcoholic drinks and a few half bottles of wine).

fixed.

Also, restaurants want to sell expensive drinks, so they make pair tasting menus.

Navarro Vineyards makes excellent non-alcoholic "wines." They don't make a lot of it though; I know of several up-scale restaurants that buy them by the crates to ensure they're able to have some for diners.

I ordered a batch of Navarros this summer. The Chardonnay Verjus is not to everyone's taste, but I and my daughter liked it a lot. (Wolffer on Long Island also sells a verjus that is quite good.) The gewurztraminer is a pretty good facsimile of real wine. On the sweet side, but not too much for the table. The Pinor Noir is weird. My housekeeper liked it, I didn't.

Verdict: at $10/bottle plus shipping, a very decent deal.

At the Per Se level perhaps, but I would be that most would not.
