Aha... my first thought was some kind of Gucci wine with an expensive price tag attached. French didn't exactly flick my switch at school. The teacher was beastly, too.

bottled at the chateau this means the grapes and wine all come from one place, not a cave cooperative where every producer mixes the grapes and thy make a single or several wines out of it.

I forgot to mention mis en bouteille au chateau means the estate actually has a castle (not only an estate) and that the wine was bottled inside it. Contrary to mis en bouteille a la propriÃ

taire which all mean bottled at the estate (no castle, paupers). beware of mis en bouteille dans nos caves or mise en bouteille dans nos chais, which means in our caves and implying that the grapes came from different producers. although these can still be very good wines.

I'd like to remind viewers that a Chateau is not always a vineyard.
Incidentally, I visited one in 1994 as part of a battlefield tour in Northern France (Somme, Ypres, etc). The name is forgotten but not the amazingly fruity tipple. My taste-buds recall the wine as being drop-dead georgeous but sadly, the women spoke french
It's such a shame Henry the 8th didn't introduce compulsory English when he had the chance in stead of sitting on his arse in all that cloth of gold.

We English spell things slightly different. In many cases, we have "U" whereas you don't (i.e. colour (color)).
Another example is, where you say "Fall" we say "Autumn". "Trunk" is "Boot", etc, etc.
