During the tremor the out-of-towner looks around worried while the locals are sitting around casually arguing over its magnitude.

I felt it, it seemed like a long rolling motion... Not to big of a deal though.

Hell, I can fart a 6.1 if I sit on the scale.

alas, in true SF fashion, i didn't want to duck underneath my desk for fear of getting my clothes dirty. so i just stood in the doorway.

but it was definitely exciting and a nice way to change up the day.

I bet it felt a lot bigger for the folks right over the epicenter. Here (50 miles away), not so bad. The thing is sometimes a quake will start off small and then kick into high gear after a few seconds, which is kind of what this one did. Whenever a smaller quake starts to ramp up I get a nice squirt of adrenaline.

My work is in Azusa, which is about 15 miles away (as the crow flies) from the epicenter in Chino. It felt pretty big to me. BTW they reduced it to a 5.4 from a 5.8.

I'm about 15 miles from epicenter, it wasnt bad at all. biggest problem is the phone service went out for a while and I was trying to solidify dinner plans.

Oh hell. I was eating at a Johnny Rockets at the epicenter with my two daughters, a good shake, but short. Nothing to see here. Move along.

As the rest of my Southern California brethren have said, +1.

My brother and I used to jump out of bed and see how long we could run in circles when earthquakes hit (they always seemed to hit at night/early morning). We thought they were great fun. And of course, my family would all try to guess the magnitude. You can always tell when someone's moved to Cali recently vs. having grown up there by their response to an earthquake.

We didn't feel it in Phoenix, but my 2-year-old had a HUGE earthquake/explosion in his diaper this morning when we were at the library

Took out the diaper and the clothes he was wearing.

It felt pretty rough where I'm located in Downtown. We felt strong vibrations through the ceiling for 5-10 seconds (We thought the AC guy was up there making a racket) then the mezzanine was shunted from left to right, enough for me to scoop up my dog and run out into the car park.

All the CA born and raised were calling me a *****!

LOL. Been there. What did it measure on the dooper Richter scale?

Back on topic... my sis lives in W. Hollywood and works in Santa Monica. Said it was a minor distraction at most.
