Just wanted to pass on the good news. I just ordered a bespoke SAB computer case as a gift for a friend (I posted an earlier thread asking for ideas and someone came up with this brilliant idea). Sterling & Burke in DC will be running a 10% off promotion for the month of August on bespoke SAB orders (and I think it also will cover items they have in stock). Brigg umbrellas are excluded but I believe all briefcases are included in the promotion.

The phone number at the store is 202-331-4244. I spoke to Susan Jeffery who was extremely helpful so I might suggest asking for her. Their website is www.classicluggage.com but I'm not sure if the discount will show up if you order online.

Bump to add that the promotion also includes free shipping. I got a large computer case in chestnut with nickel-plated hardware and natural suede interior. Even though it's not for me, I can't wait to see it.

So did anyone else bite? I mean I know it ain't 90% off Oxxford suits so I wasn't expecting to create a typical SF frenzy but I'd be curious to know if it was valuable to anyone else.

A couple years ago, I ordered a fantastic silver-topped SAB cane for my mother. I dealt with Ms. Jeffrey and was very pleased with the service I received. Highly recommended.

I think that the days where Sterling and Burke offers good service are long gone. They have taken more than half a year to deliver products, and then again, they still dither on delivery dates. And the worst thing is I have to send an email to ask them about my order, without which they lack the initiative to inform me of a delay.

They're courteous in e-mails and over the phone, bear no mistake, but I'd prefer an organization that can be more clear about when I can expect to receive something.

Sterling and Burke might be better for items they have in stock, but if they offer to take an order for something that do not have, I'd flee.

I have had a similar experience. Did you ever get the item you ordered?

I had a rather poor experience with them as well. I won't be doing any business with them in the future.
