My boat mocs have the same bulge on the toe as pictured above. I have fitted one size smaller but my biggest foot tipped the toebox while walking, sitting or standing I didnt' tip it. Will leather stretch that amount I won't tip the front?

I think it is comparable what you see in the picture above.

Should i size down?

i don't have a pair of quoddys yet (soon enough!!!) but my sperry's and N.D.C. boat shoes both have a big toe bump similar to above.  i just always figured i have to deal with it.

Anyone have a picture of their bluchers and maliseets side by side? That or just a height/width measurement between the two. I don't care about the oxford 4th eyelet or the baseball stitching I'm just trying to figure out how much more shoe you're getting.

July 4th: Ordered Natural CXL Maliseet with vibram red brick soles.
Delivered July 27th. Not a bad turn-around at all! Here are the shots:

Those Maliseets are slick Sazon! This leads me to a question for the Quoddy experts: what's your experience with sizing on Maliseets vs chukkas and lined/unlined Quoddys? I have a pair of Quoddy Maliseets that I got through Unionmade a few months ago (natural Chromexcel, red camp sole, unlined) in a size 8.5 and they fit pretty nicely. If anything, they're on the roomy side, a hair longer and wider than my 8.5 Oak Street Trail Oxfords. I recently bought a pair of "waxed flesh" Horween leather chukkas online on sale from Leffot in 8.5 assuming that they would fit nicely. Unfortunately that is not the case; I definitely need to size up. Final sale too... They're deerskin lined apparently. Should you always size up on lined Quoddys? Or do the chukkas run differently?

Saw that my soles got ripped a bit last week, is this an easy fix or can i just leave it alone ?

I had sent my 11D Maliseet pair in because the stitching was coming undone from the back of the shoe and they said they'd make me a brand new pair. Since they were making a brand new pair, I asked if they could make me an 11E instead of an 11D.

The new shoes showed up yesterday, and I swear these shoes (marked 11E) are much smaller than the 11D pair I sent in for repair. They're shorter (lengthwise) than every other pair of shoes I own and my toes seem like they'd rip through the front in no time. I can't wear them, yet the older pair I had, marked in a smaller size, fit fine in the length.

emailed quoddy to see about getting my bluchers resoled, but apparently they no longer replace crepe soles with camp soles. i was excited to get them done because i've heard great things about their resoling service, but this is a huge letdown. i don't particularly care for any of their other resoling options (lug sole, crepe, leather wrap, or vibram wrap)... quoddy why frown.gif

I was also excited about getting some leather soles replaced with camp soles. It also seems that resoling costs either went up, or are more expensive for wrap-type soles--switching to a Vibram lug sole costs $55 + shipping for me. That being said, if anybody knows of a place that would switch out a leather sole for a camp sole, let me know smile.gif

Maybe just not enough stretch? I've had older quoddies and newer ones and they all ended up fitting the same. A pair of canoe mocs had me in pain for a week but if anything they are now looser than my older canoe mocs. Might be CXL variations as well?

$55 is still pretty cheap in terms of resoles to something different.
