Quoddy Boat Shoes MEGATHREAK - Page 110

Anyone have a clue about the prime crazyweather leather offered on the chukka? Did a search and came up with zilch. TIA

I got these from ebay and found that the front part with traces of glue. Seller claims these are unworn and
received as such. Does Quoddy use glue in their processes, more specifically, for this part?

how do you guys take care of your quoddys? any recommendations on polishing or conditioner?

I use venetian cream on my quoddys , planning to use Obenaufs LP soon as well

A lot of lug sole Grizzly's being released (thankfully with white soles instead of the "red brick" stuff).

I like the one from Leffot. But I prefer a sole color other than white since it would get soiled very quick.

I’ve used Venetian Shoe Cream and Saphir Renovateur on my Quoddy mocs with good results. I wished the Venetian came with a wider mouth, I’m almost toward the end of a 2 oz bottle and it’s hard the get the last of it out. Probably use an old tooth brush to get the remainder. The Saphir comes in a nice wide mouth container, I use a small brush to apply it to the leather. One thing I noticed is that the Saphir seems to darken the leather a shade or two. So if you are concerned about this, you may not want to use it.

Over the weekend I ordered a Montana Pitch Blend sampler. Their web site has a special going on for a kit which includes dressing, oil, soap, and the shipping for $15.00.

They do not use glue, as you can find out on their website. Look at the bottoms of the soles. You should be able to see the stitching--they stitch, they don't glue). I would definitely send those back to the seller.

Proud owner of 4 pairs of Quoddy and never in my life have I seen glue on a pair of Quoddy. Do send it back and hit him up with a negative feedback. That is just ridiculous. And even if Quoddy were to use glue on their shoes - which like I said I have never seen - it wouldn't be so shoddily done as in the picture.

They do not use glue in their construction. Period.
