410's are usually used only for skeet/clay. I've never used one because I can't hit a damn thing with them. The lower muzzle speed and bullet size means you have to be somewhat of an expert marksman to hit anything. To tell you the truth, I've never shot anything but a slug out of a 12-guage so I'm not sure how it kicks when shooting shot. Yeah, 20 guages occasionally leave game wounded, but I think I'd be going out on a limb if I said a 12 guage would drasticly increase the number killed immediately. I don't really see a difference in a kill shot or wringing the bird's neck 20 seconds after it falls. It's still in shock and doesn't really notice anything.
