They remind me of the Allen Edmonds Strand, which I own in walnut colour. I really like the colour of yours though, I may look into a pair.

Be carefull going by the color on your monitor as most monitors are not color calibrated and it only has to be a small amount to give you the wrong actual color, I have noticed this on my monitor and I think it is a little heavy with the Red channel however a touch of extra red on some shoes makes them look awesome, and I am wondering if this why I am not as impressed with shoes with some hints of green in them, but I have liked the ones in a more solid green.

Those look great love the color the AE have more brogue towards the rear of the shoe

Shoes: Herring by Cheaney (Gilmour - I find Cheaney to be exceptional value, and Herring to have excellent service and very reasonable international shipping; give them a look)

Socks: Bresciani (nice, but next time I'll try going up a size as they are not as long over the calf as Mazarin, Marciolani, etc.)

Suit: Nice wool spoiled by Chinese elves who turned out to be goblins

The Cheaney shoes look nice, (not the standard laces? ) do Herring offer VAT less prices?

Love the socks, I am unsure with socks as I have only tried one brand which is Pantherella  i am UK size8 and  6-8and a half fit great  ( are about 3 inch below my Knee ) I only have 2 pairs at the moment the rest are on their way.

I have ordered a suit from an online company in Australia the wool i supposed to be exceptional quality ( fingers crossed ) and will be put together in China but the guy I talked to here in Australia ensures me that it will be a great suit as he said just because it will be made in China dose not mean it will be badly made, I might add that I paid extra for their top of the line tayloring option.

The laces are from a very cheap multi-pack from Bexley.  I've not tried their shoes (I'm told not bad for the money), I wouldn't recommend their socks (too tight in the ankle ones, haven't tried the OTC but only one colour anyway), I do buy their trees that are the best value I've found anywhere.

 I would say that Cheaney's shoes (I have two pairs, both in Herring's own brand) are as good if not better quality than my recent Church's "Custom Grade" (which is actually the standard grade, incidentally).  Regarding Herring, As I'm also outside the EU, I can vouch for how well Herring's service has worked for me.  I've bought three or four pairs of shoes from them, both their own and other brands. Yes, they deduct VAT completely at checkout - unlike certain companies who "forget" unless you ask, and/or offer a "non-EU discount" instead that's less than the VAT they're saving.  They charge a flat £20 outside Europe for shipping, and then only £5 extra for each additional pair of shoes.  They give you a courier tracking number with DHL or UPS, and I'm told that delivery to Australia takes as little as three days.  

Also (just to prove I'm not working for them!), they are pretty good about a little negotiation here and there: I've had 10% off one order (these shoes pictured actually) having just missed an online offer from them, free trees on more than one occasion, and generally excellent treatment that makes me want to go back.  One thing though: they flatly refuse to label their items "not for resale" or "no commercial value" or whatever, to save you import duties.  I don't know if imports of shoes from Europe to Oz are dutiable or not, but if so, you pay.  It's 5% where I live, no biggie, but it annoyed me at first.

Online tailoring, in my experience, is a pain.  There's just no substitute from being able to have a fitting or three.  I tried it once, the fabric and finish were better than I expected.  But their plan seemed to be to make everything extra big, and hope that people who buy cheap online don't really know the difference, or will take their 30 Euro discount voucher as compensation for having things altered locally.  There are not many places in the developed world where that kind of refund or voucher goes very far with a tailor.  But anyway, I guess they work on their low margins, and always err on the side of too big as it's easier to fix than too small, and less likely to cause complaint.  To be fair I've only tried it once, but never again.  Once you've had to alter something a couple of times and still aren't happy with it, it then seems a much better deal to get something discounted off the peg or even used, and have it adjusted.  At least that way you can start with high quality you can see, and work out how much needs adjusting before you commit.  I'm fortunate that my real-world tailor is cheap.  But he's also the third I've used this year, and possibly not the last - again, easier when you can take a look first hand at how someone works.

Sorry, perhaps I didn't reiterate how that whole exchange started: there are plenty of plain solid colours (the like of which I already have from various places).  But my difficultly was in finding 100% cotton socks in interesting patterns, and over the calf.  And I didn't find any here.  I did find some at brescianisocks.com, although I find so far that the Brescianis fit a little small i.e. not long enough to go over the calf and stay there.  I will try more in a size up and hope they're not too big for my feet.
