I think it is ok, from time-to-time, to be a bit expressive. But when worn with suits (aside from a party) or everyday it doesn't show an understanding of coordinating pattern and colors. Anyone can wear loud clashing clothing. But there is a fine art to coordinating your apparel.

While we are talking theory (which I love). The real fine art is being coordinated, appropriate AND expressive in the setting/situation.

Truth. I'll add coordinated, appropriate, expressive AND better than everyone else in the room.

Dark and dreary here in the ATL.
My clothing seems to match the weather.

Shoes - C&J Finsbury in Brown Shell
Socks - Pantherella
Trousers - Armani

It's all perfectly fine but kinda Meh, isn't it? I think darker socks would have looked a bit better.

Uncle Mac, I have brushed these shoes until my arm nearly fell off but they just don't shine like I want. They've never had any treatment other than a couple of coats of Saphir Renovateur. Should I try a coat of wax or two?

I know I know. I get a little out of line sometimes (... gets back in line). I know you are just trying to make this as good of a message board as it can be. I'll keep reading and learning.:)

My fault entirely - probably a bit irritable from SRH or something.

Those shoes are very nice! I love the texture of the socks.

On the contrary, I like being in the presence of sartorial betters. It gives one something to aspire to.

Sentiments I endorse.

Weird - have you deer-boned them?

Nice rug-sock-shoe-pant matching, btw. :fonz:

A little more reserved today.
Worked on the cap toe for a couple of hours last night, and fixed my hair in it this morning.

How'd your hair turn out? :)

I commend you on winter shoes with winter trousers!

Actually the hair was a little sloppy today. I guess I still some more layers on the cap toe. Thanks for helping me to understand the nuances of winter/summer shoes.

jhcam8 - Thanks. I love polishing my shoes. I am learning some additional nice steps from some of the other threads.
