@grc1 I admire your shoe collection. Would you mind posting a couple examples of what you'd wear with a tuxedo? My pants are typically slim fitting as well.
Tuxedo? Hmm - I don't have any shoes that I would say are strictly ideal (personally I hate tuxedo pumps :parapet: and I don't have any plain whole-cuts).
So in terms of what is the best compromise for the black shoes I already have, well, I'd go for one of two options:
Plain cap-toes from Riccardo Bestetti's Novecento line - it polishes up nicely and no medallion, but it's quite an aggressive captoe that belies its "business attire with flair" credentials, IMO:
Deco Strands from G&G - no cap, but for a tux it'd be preferable to not have a medallion.
I've worn both with tuxes with no strange looks - obviously to 99.99999999% of observers there's no issue. But if my rate of tux-wearing accelerates, I may just plump for some deco Coopers in black, like these .
Or fuck it - I might just go ahead and do it anyway, tux be damned!
