Great stuff all! Yep, Apart from the penny loafer I think they are going to be my most versatile shoe. No GG for me, I got some Loakes, I love their last so I usually stick with them when I can.

Just kidding, although there's that too.  But which last do you have?  I have a couple of very old pairs (one of which was yesterday's pic), the lasts for which I've no idea of as the numbers inside are long worn away.  But some more recent suede ones I have are on the 26, which I find to be a wonderful last, albeit on the generous side.  I think they use that one for a chukka or two, too?  Nice toe shape, I feel.

I just got this but I'm sitting on the fence about keeping it (the toe might be a bit too round, loake 026F last) what do you guys think?

Shoes: Herring George jodhpur boots

Trousers: Uniqlo houndstooth

I like the shoes I have on the 26 ( see above), but personally have never loved Jodphur boots.  In this case, I think they look odd when trying to be formal in shiny plain black.  I think where they do work, it's with jeans or chinos, in a country-fied brown, maybe a scotchgrain.  I don't think it's the last.  I think it's just the wrong boot: black shoes are formal, jodphur boots aren't.

I'd maybe look at these instead?  http://herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?&colset=1&styleid=841&shoeid=2868&brandid=6&catid=42&oldcolid=1521&stype=0&colourid=1522  Same last, same price point, but I think they'll work better with dress trousers than a jodphur, even though they're still relatively casual with their open lacing etc.  The captoe flatters the last more too, I think.
