Looking to upgrade my phone and I'm considering getting the HTC Touch Diamond.

Does anyone have any experience with this phone?

This part was my favorite:

...and with a massive 4GB of internal storage you can keep all the files you need.

I thought that was funny too. One of the cons listed by review sites was the 4GB capacity and lack of an expansion slot. But I've no problem in downloading things to my PC on a regular basis.

Think long and hard about having a touchscreen phone. I went from a Treo 680 to a Touch then a Touch Dual (lost the Touch in a cab) and hated both of them because of the touchscreen. The Samsung i780/i788/Blackjack III is a nice if somewhat dorky alternative. I use the i780 these days, mostly happy with it, still hate Windows Mobile with a burning passion.

I'd agree with the above, I moved from a Treo 600 to Windows Mobile - bad move!! I am now using a BlackBerry. Although not as customisable (geeky) as the others, it does the job well, and works primarily as a phone (something that all HTC devices that I have tried seem to struggle with)

I've had the HTC TyTN II for almost a year now, and I love it. I moved to it from a Treo 650 and love all the additional functionality, like the built-in GPS chip, removable microSD, and WiFi. The Diamond looks like a good phone, but I would miss the real keyboard. I always opt to use the slideout keyboard on my TyTN over the on screen keyboard -- it's just faster and the tactile feedback lets me type without looking for the most part. Windows Mobile isn't the best OS, but there are a ton of apps out for it and I think the Diamond uses TouchFlo as the main interface, so dealing with WinMo might be bearable.

I have a htc touch cruise. And played around with a diamond before, it's significantly smaller, much better screen resolution. On the bad, It's battery life is not at all good even among HTC's. I prefer to have both 850/900 bands, and I do swap SD cards specifically for GPS when i need.

If you are familiar user of htc and other windows mobile devices, then I think I would recommend it. But like some of these other ppl have noted about complete touch screen control, you may find it very annoying. For one example, With no tactile feedback, constant/auto screen backlite shut off and screen changes away from the keypad, It's a major pain in the ass to dial to 1-800 type service line where you need to do touch tone commands.

The main justification of my use are viewing/editing Words/Excel document for me. Viewing scheduel in PDF. Occasional browser usage. And GPS. There are so much many other window mobile application too.
